As Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” (Mark 14:36)
In our effort to grow closer to God in Christ Jesus this Holy Season, know that there are always things that compete for our attention and become stumbling blocks in our lives. Temptation and sin are our ultimate stumbling blocks. When we give in to temptation and fall into sin, a great gulf is created between us and God. Only Jesus bridges that gulf and heals that brokenness.
During Lent we practice self-examination and self-denial, reflecting on the love of God in Christ Jesus in an attempt to make our will God’s will and to demonstrate what it means to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-40)
This Holy Season, we will observe a Holy Lent through fasting and prayer, reading the Bible from cover to cover, and worship.

FASTING & PRAYER
Fasting is the discipline of abstaining from food or other creature comforts and delights for a specified time or season for spiritual purposes. Fasting is the denial of the appetites of our flesh (i.e. food, sex, television, sports, shopping, social media, or whatever else gives you “fleshly” delight and pleasure). It is especially a time of focused praying and spiritually humbling oneself for the purpose of being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Never forget that Fasting without Praying is dieting.
Please consult your physician to see if you are able to fast with us.
Please take advantage of participating in our 10 a.m. Tuesday Morning Glory Prayer Call and Friday Night Live Prayer, Praise & Preaching Call via True Love’s Prayer Line [848) 777-1500, PIN#: 648-3603].

READING THE BIBLE DAILY
This Holy Season, we will endeavor to read the entire Bible. A 40 Day Guide for reading the Bible from cover to cover has been provided. Please note that we actually have 46 days from Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday, so don’t quit this reading challenge if you miss a day. The 40 days of Lent, exclude the 6 Sundays during Holy Season. Please use the 6 days of grace to get back on track. You can do this!

We will do this together!

WORSHIP
This Holy Season let us commit to worshipping virtually or in person every Sunday. Let us be punctual and eager to worship God the Father in Spirit and in Truth!
And by all means, please make sure you are in attendance for worship on RESURRECTION SUNDAY! What a Time! What a Time! What a Time.
